Essay Topics For Postmodernism

Essay Topics For PostmodernismA couple of years ago, I wrote an essay for an honors college essay writing competition on 'The Postmodern Condition.' I was a little intimidated by the competition, and that is probably because I was new to essay competitions. But then I realized that writing an essay on a topic I felt so strongly about was what I wanted to do in my career. The judges picked four of the eight essay topics to be read. One of the essays they read was mine. The other essays were also different styles of essay - memoir, creative nonfiction, history, essays on urban culture, and satire. Each of the essays had four to six central themes. When I was given the essay topics to write, I wrote them on a piece of paper, in my own words. I then went through them one by one and discussed each one and it's purpose. After that, I used some software I found online to organize the topics into questionnaires.Once I had all of the essay topics organized, I read the questions out loud to myse lf and jotted down all of the answers. Then I read them all again and checked my answers for accuracy.I did three more rounds of reading to make sure that I still knew what the essay topic was about and that I understood the structure of the essay. Then I went back and rewrote all of the questionnaires, carefully checking each one for correctness. (A lot of people may have an affinity for using Microsoft Word, but I did not; I decided to use an online program, such as Quicken or WordPress, which gave me a free sample of the style sheet I would need.)Once I had edited and rewrote the essays, I sent them in. I received forty-six in all, including two essays that did not go through the correct steps. But I got through all of them without any problems, and I'm happy that I wrote those essays. However, this year, I decided to be a little more ambitious and use my experience as an artist and writer to do something that would push my own things that I love: literature. I've been having a bl ast with poetry and learning to think about literature from a poet's perspective. This year, I decided to use my experiences as a writer to create my own short stories based on some of my favorite poets.I love how the creative poetry I've written is an expression of myself as an artist. And when I read my stories, I love the fact that each one is my interpretation of a particular poet's work. It makes me feel that I am accomplishing what I wanted to accomplish when I wrote the essay.
